RECENT SUCCESSES

June 26, 2012 - Attorney David M. Campanella, utilizing an alternative dispute resolution process, was able to conclude a multiyear construction litigation suit resulting in a six figure settlement for his Plaintiff client and a savings of tens of thousands in costs protracted litigation would have occasioned.

April 2, 2012 - Through his experience and reasoning with municipal tax officials, and dedicated advocacy before municipal tax boards and the Superior Court, John Pagliarini saved LSG’s clients over $100 Million in valuation abatements in 2011.

February 6, 2012 - Attorneys Brian LaPlante and Ronald LaRocca successfully petitioned the Rhode Island Supreme Court to issue a rare Writ of Certiorari concerning the Supreme Court’s review of a municipal zoning board’s decision.

January 20, 2012 - Attorney Ronald LaRocca successfully persuaded the Rhode Island Supreme Court to uphold the Superior Court’s decision in favor of LSG’s client (a seller of real estate) due to the buyer’s breach of a real estate purchase and sales agreement. Attorney LaRocca argued that the buyer’s refusal to close in a timely manner constituted a breach of contract, despite the lack of a “time is of the essence” provision in the agreement. To combat the buyer’s arguments, Attorney LaRocca focused the Supreme Court’s attention on the course of dealing between the parties and the buyer’s lack of any valid basis to timely close on the property. The Supreme Court’s holding clears the title to LSG’s client’s property so that it may be sold and it also allows LSG to pursue money damages against the defaulting buyer. ...click here to read more
