In January 2007, Mr. Goldman, the principal of Fessel Goldman & Hirsch, Inc. (“FGH”), merged his firm with LaPlante & Sowa, Ltd., forming LaPlante Sowa Goldman (“LSG”). The merger enables Mr. Goldman to provide a broader range of legal services to his clients.

Mr. Goldman is a real estate and business attorney. For over thirty years he has concentrated his practice in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, conveyancing, mortgage lending, and business law. He has personally conducted or supervised over Thirty Thousand (30,000) real estate transactions, in the process building FGH into one of the area’s preeminent real estate law firms.

Recognized as a leading real estate law practitioner in the State of Rhode Island, a representative list of his clients include Rhode Island Housing, the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (“RIAR”), Chapel Building Corporation and numerous entities and individuals in the real estate and mortgage business.

In addition to his active practice, Mr. Goldman enjoys teaching continuing education courses on the topics of Contract Law, Condominium Law, Law of Agency and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (“RESPA”). He also serves on the Board of Directors and as Legal Counsel for Volunteers in Providence Schools (“VIPS”) and is a member of the Legislative Committee of the Rhode Island Mortgage Bankers Association (“RIMBA”).

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 9, 1950, Mr. Goldman is a graduate of The George Washington University (B.A., 1972) and Suffolk University School of Law (J.D., 1975). He is a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bars and a title insurance agent for LandAmerica.

Mr. Goldman resides in Providence, Rhode Island and Venice, Florida with his wife and business partner, Luisa M. Oliveira. He has two grown sons with whom he shares his love of skiing, golf and American History.
