Mr. LaPlante is a principal of the firm, with extensive experience in a variety of areas, including real estate, contract, business, leasing, zoning and land use, construction, and condominium law. A leading practitioner and recognized expert in the areas of complex real estate matters, Mr. LaPlante was honored with Martindale Hubbell’s coveted BV® rating after just five (5) years of practice. He has been a frequent continuing education lecturer and author of seminar materials for attorneys and other professionals, including engineers and land surveyors. In addition to counseling individuals, businesses, and financial institutions concerning property and business transactions, he also zealously litigates in the state and federal courts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as before alternative dispute tribunals.

Born in Waterville, Maine, Mr. LaPlante obtained his B.S. in finance from the University of Connecticut and his law degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. LaPlante resides with his wife, Jacquelyn, and their two children in Scituate, Rhode Island, where he was recently elected to serve on the Town’s School Committee.
