Mr. Sowa uses his decade of experience as a trial lawyer to represent individuals and businesses in general areas of civil litigation including: insurance, employment, contract, discrimination, education, personal injury, catastrophic, wrongful death, and otherwise. Mr. Sowa has successfully represented clients in civil jury trials in both state and federal court, in addition to achieving favorable results before a variety of administrative bodies, including the Commissioner of Education, the Department of Labor & Training, and Department of Children, Youth & Families. He has also achieved success for his clients through Alternative Dispute Resolution processes and has resolved many civil actions without the necessity of a trial.
Mr. Sowa is admitted to practice law before all Rhode Island Trial Courts, Rhode Island Supreme Court, and United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. He also enjoys the privilege of admission before the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Sowa carries a Martindale-Hubbell “BV®” peer review rating, which he attained after just five years in practice.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Mr. Sowa obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Boston College in 1994 and his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 1997. Mr. Sowa is a member of the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association and was recently elected to the Roger Williams University School of Law Alumni Board of Directors. He currently resides in Portsmouth, Rhode Island with his wife, Jennifer, and their sons, Benjamin and Brendan.
