Ms. Wilhelmsen concentrates her practice in the areas of business and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial and residential real estate.  Prior to joining LaPlante Sowa Goldman, Ms. Wilhelmsen practiced at Ropes & Gray LLP where she represented public and private companies on securities law matters, including initial public offerings and public debt offerings. She also worked with private investment firms in connection with multiple leveraged buyouts. Most recently, Ms. Wilhelmsen practiced at Gesmer Updegrove, representing technology companies in a range of merger, acquisition, and other business combination transactions.

Originally from Coventry, Rhode Island, Ms. Wilhelmsen earned her B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Rhode Island, summa cum laude, where she served as President of the Pi Tau Sigma Mechanical Engineering Honor Society and held a Teaching Assistant position in the Department of Physics.  Ms. Wilhelmsen subsequently obtained her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School.  She served as Associate Notes Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment Law and Practice, where her work was published in 2005.

Ms. Wilhelmsen resides with her daughter in Cumberland, Rhode Island, and enjoys hiking, reading, playing board games, and following Boston sports teams, especially the Bruins.
